Diagnose before you replace.

Focused Mac and Windows troubleshooting for homes and small businesses, on-site or remote. We trace slow performance, software failures, updates, accounts, storage, data concerns, and setup problems to a working result or an honest next decision.

Start with the symptom

What changed is more useful than what the pop-up called itself.

We begin with normal use, recent changes, important data, and the conditions that make the problem repeat. The first goal is a defensible diagnosis—not guess-and-check clicking.

01

Slow or unstable

Startup delays, freezing, crashes, heat, storage pressure, background software, and performance that changed without a clear reason.

02

Software or updates

Failed updates, applications that will not open, repeated prompts, browser problems, unwanted software, and settings that changed unexpectedly.

03

Accounts or access

Password and recovery cleanup, Microsoft or Apple account confusion, email setup, MFA, permissions, and sign-in loops.

04

Files or migration

Missing files, backup checks, cloud-sync confusion, damaged profiles, logical recovery, new-computer setup, and careful data transfer.

The diagnostic path

Protect the data. Isolate the cause. Make one controlled decision.

01

Preserve

Identify important data, backups, recent changes, unusual hardware signs, and actions that should stop before troubleshooting.

02

Reproduce

Capture the exact symptom, timing, affected user, application, account, network, and the conditions that make it appear.

03

Isolate

Separate software, account, storage, network, device, and physical-hardware paths without random settings changes.

04

Resolve

Make the smallest complete change, test normal use, and protect the surrounding account and data dependencies.

05

Decide

Document the result, recommend replacement when responsible, or hand physical repair and specialist recovery to the right provider.

What we handle

Software, accounts, setup, migration, and data-aware diagnosis.

We troubleshoot current and reasonably supportable Mac and Windows computers, protect accessible data, configure normal work, and explain repair-or-replace decisions plainly.

What requires a specialist

Internal parts, liquid damage, soldering, and failed media.

TTCo does not replace screens, batteries, keyboards, boards, storage chips, ports, or internal components. We stop when continued use could worsen a physical failure and refer the appropriate path.

Buying questions

Before we work on the computer.

The safest path depends on the symptom, recent changes, data at risk, hardware condition, and whether the issue can be reproduced remotely.

01

Do you work on both Macs and Windows computers?

Yes. We troubleshoot current and reasonably supportable Macs and Windows PCs for homes and small businesses. We confirm fit before accepting work involving unusual hardware, specialized applications, or unsupported operating systems.

02

Do you provide computer repair in Boston?

We provide on-site and remote diagnosis, software troubleshooting, setup, migration, account help, data triage, and repair-or-replace guidance in Greater Boston. We do not replace screens, batteries, logic boards, or other internal components; when physical repair is the responsible path, we refer that work to an appropriate specialist.

03

Can the work be done remotely?

Many software, account, email, update, and configuration issues can be handled remotely when the computer can connect safely. Hardware symptoms, network problems, migrations, and some recovery work are usually better assessed on-site.

04

Can you recover missing data?

We can investigate missing files, cloud sync, backups, profiles, and logical recovery when a device is still readable. Recovery is never guaranteed. A clicking, dropped, liquid-damaged, or electrically failed drive may require a specialist recovery lab, and continued use can make the outcome worse.

05

Should I buy a new computer before calling?

Usually not. A short assessment can distinguish a configuration problem from an aging or unsupported computer. If replacement is appropriate, we can recommend a suitable model and handle migration without overselling specifications you will not use.
